Donations

During the decade of its operation, a number of foreign and domestic donors contracted the Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation to administer and distribute funds aimed at supporting the Hungarian environmental movement:

The regular support of our core funders: the German Marshall Fund of the US, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the C.S. Mott Foundation and a number of smaller foundations formed the basis of our grant programme. The local board of Partnership had complete freedom and independence in grant allocation.

From 2000 onwards the Dutch lottery fund, Stichting DOEN also contracted us to administer its funds aimed at supporting Central European environmental NGOs.

In 1997-98 we have administered the NGO budget of the Hungarian Central Environmental Fund. Together with our Czech and Slovak partners, we run a joint grantmaking programme to support organisations working on energy issues, with funding from the Austrian Ministry of Environment.

In 1998, we participated in the ozone programme of the World Bank’s Global Environmental Facility, supporting NGO campaigns and actions.

For three years, the PEW Charitable Trust Foundation from the US funded a special programme to support rural development programmes realised in the co-operation of environmental and gypsy organisations, as well as cross-border programmes.

In 1995-96 we administered the energy efficiency programme of NOVEM (the Dutch state energy efficiency agency).

Togethet with the Bulgarian, Czech, Romanian and Slovak Environmental Partnerships we are running a joint energy program supported by the Austrian Ministry of Environment.
